Chris Hanlon started his coaching journey in eastern Pennsylvania. As a youth player, he won multiple state regional and national championships playing for clubs like FC Delco. At age seventeen, he was playing and coaching in the Olympic Development Program. It is here where he ended up playing and coaching for both the Iowa and EPYSA state select teams, making both the region 1 & 2 teams.

At the collegiate level, Hanlon played at the University of Pittsburgh where he still ranks in the top ten all-time goalkeeping categories at the university. His college experience continued at the coaching level at Drake University, Grandview College and Missouri State University.

Utilizing his vast soccer experience, Chris founded the Demize Soccer organization in 2004. Since then, the Demize have gone on to provide a platform for countless players to play at the collegiate, semi-professional and professional levels of soccer; both indoor and outdoor leagues. Along with being the founder, Chris was also a player on Demize PASL-Pro team from 2009-2011. The Demize arena team won the PASL National title in 2020 and claimed the MASL 3 Midwest Division Championship in 2022.

Hanlon holds multiple degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and within the United Coaches Association. He joined the Upstart Athletics team in 2003 as Director of Coaching and looks forward to helping lead both the youth and minor league soccer programs.
